On Wednesday, January 26, 2011 the San Francisco Ballet held its 2011 Opening Night Gala, La Belle Époque at the War Memorial Opera House.
9 classical and contemporary works and excerpts were presented as part of the gala program including William Forsythe’s The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude and theworld premiere of Val Caniparoli’s Double Stop.
Prior to the Gala performance, five black-tie fundraising dinners were held in City Hall. All proceeds from the dinners benefit San Francisco Ballet’s annual fund. Rada Brooks was the Auxiliary Gala chair; Marie Hurabiell Trader was the Gala dinner chair; and Kathy Huber was the décor chair.
