On Tuesday, October 12, 2010, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan and Cornelia & Martin Bregman hosted a Cocktail Reception at the home of the Bregman’s in New York City in anticipation for the 2010 Alzheimer’s Association Rita Hayworth Gala. The event served as a kick-off event for the 27th annual Alzheimer’s Association Rita Hayworth Gala being held in NYC on October 26th. Princess Yasmin Aga Khan and the Bregman’s were joined by Michele Herbert (Gala Chair), Muffie Potter Aston, Lady Liliana Cavendish, Chele Upton Chiavacci (Co-Chair), Naeem Khan (Rita Haywood Award Recipient), Alexandra Lebenthal, G. Marlyne Sexton (Philanthropy Award Recipient), Patty Smyth McEnroe, Allen Brill (CEO of Rolex Watch USA), Janna Bullock, Dana Hammond, and Steven Tanger.
Princess Yasmin Aga Khan established the Gala as a tribute to her mother, Rita Hayworth, who lived with Alzheimer’s disease for many years before her death in 1987.
