The Horticultural Society of New York (The Hort) presented its annual New York Flower Show on April 17, 2012. That evening 320 elite New Yorkers gathered at 583 Park Avenue to honor jewelry designer James Taffin de Givenchy, footwear designer Jack Rogers and fashion designer Lee Anderson of Lee Anderson Couture.
30 of New York’s finest floral, fashion and interior designers transformed 583 Park Avenue - the re-owned Delano & Aldrich architectural jewel - into a floral haven by creating one-of-a-kind tablescapes reflecting this year’s theme “Couture en Fleur.” The theme inspired many of the designers to create their tablescape designs after concepts such as Alexander McQueen's book "Savage Beast," the costumes and performances of Cirque de Soleil, the 1920’s fashion era in Paris, and much more. Designers included Fleurs Bella, Laura Clare, Nancy Swiezy, Rachel Cho, Renny & Reed, Zak Events, and more.
The New York Flower Show supports The Hort’s mission to sustain the vital connection between people and plants. The Hort’s social service and public programs educate and inspire, growing a broad community that values horticulture for the many benefits it brings to our environment, neighborhoods, and lives.
