On Wednesday, February 2, 2011, New York City Ballet held its Annual Luncheon benefit at Lincoln Center. This year the event celebrated acclaimed director and choreographer Susan Stroman with a special one-time only program called “Susan Stroman: Dance on Stage & Screen.” The event showcased Susan’s extraordinary career with dance excerpts performed by the New York City Ballet, film clips, archival footage, and of course, Susan herself.
Announced each year as part of the Annual Luncheon is the recipient of The Janice Levin Dancer Award, which was created by NYCB in 2000 and is bestowed upon one of the Company’s most promising corps members. This year’s recipient was Anthony Huxley.
An elegant luncheon on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater, featuring a live auction led by George McNeely of Christie’s, followed the program.
Donya Bommer, Darren Henault and Michael Bassett, Yesim Philip, Susan Tabak, Sue Ann Weinberg, William H. Wright II were the Benefit Chairmen.
