On Saturday, March 5th, 2011, The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (Legion of Honor and de Young Museum) held the Seventh Annual Junior Committee of the Fine Arts Museum’s Mid Winter Gala.
The event saluted Olmec: Colossal Masterworks of Ancient Mexico, which is open at the de Young through May 9th, 2010. The Décor, designed by Stanlee Gatti, was inspired by
The “El Morocco” nightclub.
The Junior Committee of the Fine Arts Museums has been formed to bring together the next generation of prominent young couples and individuals of San Francisco and the Bay Area who have an interest in the arts.
Vanessa Getty and Trevor Traina were the Honorary Chairs. Allison Speer and Kathryn Lasater were the Gala co-chairs. Guests included: Billy Getty, Alexis Traina, (in Donna Karan), Todd and Katie Traina (in Nina Ricci), Vanessa Getty (in Michael Kors), Allison Speer (In Oscar de la Renta), Kathryn Lasater (in Carolina Herrera), Dick Costolo, CEO of Twitter and Lauren Costolo, Marissa Mayer (in Carolina Herrera) and Zack Bogue, Lars Ulrich of Metallica, and Connie Nielson, Sloan and Roger Barnett, Carol and Shelby Bonnie, Juliet de Baubigny (in Andrew Gn), Jeana Toney and Boris Putanec, Gina and Stuart Peterson, Kate Harbin and Adam Clammer, Katie and Matt Paige, Alec and Serena Perkins, Leslie Thieriot, Victoire and Owsley Brown, Jad Dunning.
Event Sponsors included First Republic, BVLGARI, Sotheby’s, Porsche Design, and Nordstrom. Alcohol Sponsors included Grey Goose Vodka, and Swanson Vineyards.
The event is expected to raise over $400,000 for the museum, which benefits the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco.
