Jazz
at Lincoln Center held its annual Spring
Gala on May 28 at the Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln
Center in New York. The highlight of the evening was a Gala concert,
themed “Spring Swing,” featuring the soulful vocals
of jazz chanteuse Patti Austin with special guest Wynton
Marsalis and a 19-piece orchestra performing
selections from her 2008 GRAMMY® - award winning album Avant
Gershwin. Famed R&B crooner, James Ingram,
also appeared at the concert event. Gala chairs were: Efraim
Grinberg, Movado; Tim Murphy, MasterCard
Worldwide; Karen K. Raffety, Cadillac, and Tony
Ponturo, Anheuser-Busch. Proceeds from the evening will
benefit Jazz at Lincoln Center's performance and education
programs.
