On Friday, November 4, 2011, Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education held Fiesta! 2011 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. Jacqueline Weld Drake, Aileen Mehle & H.R.H. Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia were the Dinner Chairs. Robert Verdi & Mario Buatta were the Masters of Ceremony.
The evening honored four individuals with the Casita Maria Gold Medal: designer Roberto Cavalli, Ford Foundation President Luis Ubiñas, artist Julio Larraz and philanthropist Tiqui Atencio Demirdjian.

Casita Maria has been and continues to be a driving force in the communities it serves through their vital after school and educational programs focusing on the arts and technology. Casita Maria’s annual Fiesta! is a joyful celebration that welcomes the organization’s family of friends and supporters, including many leaders of New York’s Latino community, to celebrate Casita Maria in a fun atmosphere, while raising awareness and much-needed funds for its mission.
