Terry Lundgren receives Carnegie Hall Medal of Excellence from Mayor Michael

On
Monday, April 7, Carnegie Hall awarded its third-annual
Medal of Excellence for outstanding philanthropic leadership in the
arts to Terry J. Lundgren—chairman, president,
and chief executive officer of Macy's, Inc. The gala, which
was attended by more than 1000 guests, raised $4.2 million, a record-setting
number for the event and a testament to Mr. Lundgren's extraordinary
commitment to arts philanthropy. All proceeds benefit Carnegie
Hall's artistic and education programming.
The Medal of Excellence was presented to Mr. Lundgren by The Honorable Michael
R. Bloomberg, Mayor of the City of New York, at a gala
benefit at The Waldorf=Astoria. Newswoman Deborah
Norville was the Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening. Legendary
vocalist Tony Bennett performed as part of the
evening's program.
