Peter Galassi is the director of the Museum of Modern Art's department of photography.

Background: Peter Galassi was born in Washington. He assumed his current position at The Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1991, but has worked there since 1974. He was appointed associate director of photography at the museum in 1981.
