Background: Prior to that time, Mr. Staniar held a number of assignments at Westinghouse, including President of Group W Cable and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Westinghouse Broadcasting. Prior to joining Westinghouse in 1980, he held a number of marketing and general management positions at Colgate Palmolive Co. and Church and Dwight Co., Inc. In the mid-seventies he started and subsequently sold a successful direct marketing company, Artcraft Concepts, Inc. Mr. Staniar helped lead the Knoll's successful turnaround in the mid-1990s, the LBO purchase from Westinghouse with Warburg, Pincus Ventures and the subsequent IPO in May 1997.
He is a vice chairman of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Business Committee, a director of Church and Dwight Co., Inc., a director of Journal Register Co., Inc., a member of the board of trustees of Washington & Lee University and the board of overseers of Columbia Business School.
