Biography
Agnes Gund  is an important philanthropist, art educator and collector of postwar art.

Lives in New York City

Background:
Agnes Gund was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1938.  Her parents cultivated her early interest in art. Her father collected western painting and her mother would take her to art classes at the Cleveland Museum. Her mother died when she was 15 and she had to help raise her five younger siblings.  Her father George Gund, Jr. was the president of Cleveland Trust Company and made his fortune by selling the rights to Sanka Coffee.
